Its Great To Travel, But Its So Expensive

When travelling a long distance most people prefer to go by air. The airline industry is very competitive and carriers are doing their best to hold the ticket price down. That said, its still super expensive. Some simple ways of combating this is to try to anticipate what is going to be needed on the flight and bring it along. Packing a lunch, bringing a blow-up pillow and using a scarf as a blanket are simple ways to defer costs. In terms of booking a flight try to be flexible with dates and time and always book early!

When travelling by car there are many ways to cut costs. Renting a car through CarRentalExpress will most likely help with rental costs. Agencies listed here are independent and often locally owned with some offering rates that are 15% - 30% lower than the majors. While a big, fancy car would be fun to drive and have lots more room, it is a huge gas-guzzler. Reserve a car that is smaller and good on gas so as to reduce costs.

Many CRX agencies also have seasonal and special coupons. Make sure to check in advance to find any special deals.

Many car rental agencies listed on CarRentalExpress have their main locations in near-airport hotels. Theyll send a car and driver to pick up and deliver the renter to the agency to complete the paper work.

Checking out hotels in advance is also a great idea. Many offer big perks for frugal travelers. These can include kids stay free and/or eat for free. Others have free breakfasts or other incentives. Some have pools for the whole family to use and many offer free gym access for those who need some exercise after being cooped up in a car all day.

Speaking of food, search out local family-run or chain restaurants. Here the food has a guaranteed level of quality for a reasonable price. They are also great in accommodating families with kids.

Another benefit of planning ahead allows the traveler to search out great coupons for tourist attractions. These can really help when trying to keep costs down.

CarRentalExpress.com (CRX) provides thousands of impartial consumer based Renter Rated reviews, including comments, for more than 200 car rental agencies. Reviews and comments are submitted by real people who have completed rentals through the site. CRX also helps find some of the cheapest car rentals in North America, lower than major brands. Reviews allow consumers to assess costs and service to choose the best car rental deal.

"Empowering Minds" with Host "Martin Sheen" Educates Audiences on Foodborne Illness

Each year, hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children are unwittingly exposed to a variety of diseases and illnesses stemming from their contact with food. In recent years, more emphasis has been put on sanitation practices on farms, in kitchens, and in food packaging to minimize the risks presented in the most common cases. E-Coli, Salmonella, and Hepatitis are the three most prevalent results from contact with food that has been improperly handled or undercooked. The results of exposure are often serious, leading to hospitalization and in many cases the unfortunate death of the individuals exposed. To combat this, scientists have worked diligently to develop better treatment methods and more accurate ways to diagnose these ailments at an early juncture. In tandem, government officials and Quality Assurance specialists have implemented rigorous approvals for all packaged food, and have implied sanctions in cases where a food-borne illness was previously present.

"Empowering Minds" with host Martin Sheen will be teaming with some of the individuals who are spearheading this movement for the creation of content for Public Television that educates consumers on the dangers that exist. By effectively demonstrating the options for treatment, for potential recourse after an illness, and for effective disease prevention, there is the distinct possibility that the growing rates of food-related illness could be drastically reduced in the coming years. Featuring Martin Sheen, these segments can illustrate the importance of such issues to a wide audience.

"Empowering Minds" provides non-commercial television programming to Public Television stations, and features educational content from around the world. These segments will be distributed directly to the Public Television stations.

"Empowering Minds" is not affiliated with PBS. For more information on the series and food-borne illnesses, or to inquire about participation in the series, visit www.empoweringmindstv.com or email info@empoweringmindstv.com.
