The University continues to distribute textbooks to approximately 3,400 new undergraduates on campus, with Ingram and Coventry University staff working jointly on distribution.

The initial pilot phase of the project will be reviewed by the University and Ingram in early December, before the two organizations embark on a dedicated program for supplying textbooks to new students in both print and digital formats.

We look forward to our work with Coventry and putting the results of the pilot to good use, creating a program that benefits all.

ADP Announces ADP Pro, a New Initiative Linking Midsized Companies with Subject Matter Experts

New Initiative Combines Professional Certification, Webinars and Personal Access to Experts

ROSELAND, N.J. ADP, a leading provider of human capital management services, today launched ADP Pro, an educational program specifically designed to give midsized companies multiple opportunities to engage with ADP subject matter experts on a range of human capital management issues, learn industry best practices and expand their professional credentials.

Midsized businesses face new and unique challenges everything from increased government regulation to the growing cost of healthcare, said Regina Lee, President, Major Account Services, National Account Services, GlobalView and ADP Canada at ADP. ADP Pro takes our superior client engagement to the next level by linking our deep roster of subject matter experts with clients to learn how unified human resources management tools can dramatically impact business performance.

ADPs professional certification is a key component of the ADP Pro program. To date, more than 2,000 payroll and human resources professionals have earned this credential, which many see as an employment differentiator. ADP certification is offered twice a year during the Spring and Fall. The program includes virtual test preparation classes and requires an in-person exam at one of Pearson VUEs more than 200 national testing centers. Candidates who complete ADPs test preparation classes earn Continuing Education (CE) Credits at the rate of 1.5 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Credits, 1.5 Recertification Credit Hours (RCH) or 0.2 Continuing Education Units (CEU). Payroll and human resources professionals at midsized companies will have access to ADPs growing list of certification areas, which includes ADP Workforce Now, the companys primary human resources management solution for midsized companies.

The ADP Pro program also features ongoing training opportunities through a new series of webinars that are free for clients. Running twice a month, these webinars will showcase best practices across a variety of topics from healthcare reform and risk management to navigating the social media landscape. The ADP Pro webinar series offers clients another way to earn Continuing Education Credits and can be accessed via ADPs client portal. The first webinar will take place on March 13 and will focus on empowering a mobile workforce. On March 27, another webinar will take place focusing on the U.S. Affordable Care Act.

ADP will also offer in-person access to ADP Pros at their semiannual regional User Group Meetings. At ADPs User Group Meetings midsized businesses will be able to receive one-on-one insights from the companys internal experts on timely business issues while receiving training on ADPs ever-evolving product set.

By offering convenient training opportunities that yield continuing education credits and provide direct access to experts in areas like compliance, ADP Pro will help my organization take a best practice approach to workforce management, said Roslyn H. Schaffer, SPHR, Director of Human Resources at The Barnes Foundation, a major institution that promotes the advancement of education and the appreciation of the fine arts with campuses in Philadelphia and Merion, Pennsylvania and an ADP client.

Australian Global Citizenship Programs for School Students Take Tasmanian Students to Timor Leste

Tasmania, Australia February, 2013 Tasmanias Scotch Oakburn College sent the second group of their staff and students off to visit their Timor Leste global citizenship partner school, Maliana One High School, as part of a global citizenship program for school students. Principal Andrew Barr also joined the trip, facilitated by not-for-profit social education organisation Destination Dreaming, which runs global service learning programs for Australian school students in partnership with schools in rural Australia and in nearby countries. www.destinationdreaming.org.au/

The students first morning in Maliana began with dancing at 5:00am with new local friends, before the group headed out to watch the Tour De Timor bike race through the town. Each day was filled with lots of English language tutoring- working in small groups at the Encouragement House and at Maliana One a key way to bring the global citizenship program to life on each trip. The Scotch Oakburn teachers also ran a session for pre-service teachers at the local university to foster a higher level of shared learning as part of the global citizenship program.

One evening, the group shared dinner with a local family just outside Maliana, who are campaigning to get a library built in a nearby village. This is a worthy project that Destination Dreaming is currently negotiating funding and support for.

After Scotch Oakburn Colleges first visit in 2011, the Colleges community raised an amazing $3,000 for their partner Timor Leste school. This years group had the privilege of donating the funds on behalf of the community, which will enable Maliana One to install fresh drinking water for their 1300 students and 55 staff. www.destinationdreaming.org.au/

Funds from the groups visit and Destination Dreaming were also used to buy materials and pay local builders to construct another student shelter for the new dormitory Kookaburra. The shelters have proved to be a real hit and it was great to see the students (from both Scotch Oakburn and the Encouragement House) assisting the builders to prepare the site and foundation.

At the conclusion of the 10 days, a participant of the global service learning program for school students 18-year-old Kathleen said I have learnt that giving is a truly fantastic experience and that making a change in one persons life, changes the world for them. I had the best week of my life giving and as a result will endeavor to share and continue to give for the rest of my life. www.destinationdreaming.org.au/

Scotch Oakburn teacher Tania Deguara said, once again the experience was incredible. Cultural awareness, global understanding, problem solving and collaboration are essential skills to have to meet the challenges of the 21st Century. A Destination Dreaming program provides an excellent opportunity for young people to learn about and experience the challenges, hopes and possibilities of another culture and in turn learn about the ways they as young people in Australia can shape the world they want to live in.

Destination Dreaming works with schools in Australia and internationally to create sustainable community partnerships and teach students from both areas about global citizenship, self-awareness and social justice. These global citizenship programs for school students are aimed at helping the young people to thrive in an increasingly global world where understanding cultural differences is becoming more and more important. IU's Kelley School of Business Partnering with the American University of Mongolia to Offer MBA

Indiana University's Kelley School of Business has entered into a partnership with the newly formed American University of Mongolia to offer an MBA for global executives beginning in September.

A recently signed memorandum of understanding between the two institutions builds on long-running ties between IU and Mongolia.

IU is considered one of the world's leading centers of academic expertise in Mongolian Studies, and IU's Department of Central Eurasian Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences is the sole independent, degree-granting academic unit in the U.S. staffed with its own faculty of specialists in the region.

"This new program signifies our commitment to partnering with American University of Mongolia to offer new and innovative business education programs to meet the needs of this dynamic country," said Idalene Kesner, interim dean of the Kelley School and the Frank P. Popoff Chair of Strategic Management. "The growth that is occurring in Mongolia is exciting, and we are proud to be working to support the economic potential of the country through education."

The degree program will be a blend of classes taught on the American University of Mongolia campus in Ulaanbaatar and online instruction.

With a focus on growing international opportunities in Mongolia, the curriculum will focus on four themes that emphasize a global managerial perspective: leadership, managing global resources, innovation and entrepreneurship, and applied projects. It will include a one-week residency at IU Bloomington and a one-week program at the Washington Campus in Washington, D.C.

"We are delighted to be partnering with Indiana University's Kelley School of Business in offering this program, building on the already strong relationship that exists between the school and this country," said J. Peter Morrow, chairman of American University of Mongolia. "The Kelley School of Business was recently ranked as the number one business school in the U.S. in terms of teaching quality, career services and student satisfaction, so this also fits with our emphasis on choosing quality partners while we are developing our own programs."

The Kelley School of Business also offers an MBA for executives with Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea. Kelley and the Indian Institute of Management-Lucknow soon will offer graduate-level certificate programs and eventually a graduate degree program on business analytics to business professionals in India.

The American University of Mongolia is a new independent nonprofit liberal arts university. In addition to the MBA, in September 2014 it will begin accepting students into its four-year undergraduate programs.
