"Breakthroughs", Along with Host Martin Sheen, Discusses the Efficiency of Solar Panels, an Alternative Energy Source

As the main source of energy on our planet, the sun's power is undeniable. By supplying much needed heat and light, the sun sustains life on earth to and allows it to flourish and grow. Though solar collectors and the like have been utilized since the 18th century, it wasn't until the last few hundred years when incredible advances have been made to harness the sun's vast energy. Nowadays, Solar Energy is even more efficient and easier to utilize at home and at your business.

The use of solar panels has skyrocketed in recent years as consumers place an emphasis "going green" and reduce their carbon footprint. Use of solar energy substantially reduces utilization of energy created by nuclear plants and the burning of fossil fuels, which lessens or reliance on these resources. Another major component of solar panels is cost. Many consumers, burdened by the rising cost of electricity, have sought out solar energy as a more affordable option.

"Breakthroughs" with Martin Sheen will feature companies, manufacturers, and organizations in an effort to educate the audience on the advantages of solar energy.

The series is not distributed through PBS. Please contact Breakthroughs via email at info@breakthroughsptv.com or go online to www.breakthroughsptv.com to learn more at the Public Television series.

Martin Sheen, Host of "Impact", Educates the Viewer on Natural Gas

We've all heard about natural gas, but how many people really know where it comes from or what it is? Found deep underground rock formations, natural gas is formed from fossil remains of plants and animals. Originally, natural gas was obtained as a by-product to producing oil. In the beginning, the gas was just burned off, but throughout time, advances were made in harnessing the energy.

These changes made it possible to collect the gas and utilize is as a power source. Once a natural gas reserve is found, the gas is extracted and sent to processing plants to be cleaned and converted into usable fuel. The natural gas is then sent to small underground pipelines for distribution to businesses and homes.

The use of natural gas has grown rapidly along with consumers rising awareness of environmental concerns. Natural Gas is the cleanest burning fuel and is much friendlier to the environment as a result. It is safe, cost effective and reliable and due to its abundance, it will be utilized for many years to come.

"Impact", hosted by Martin Sheen, has partnered with various companies to help educate the viewing audiences on the benefits of natural gas. The knowledge obtained from this series can be utilized by many generations to come.

REMI Recommends Color Branding for High-Impact Real Estate Marketing

The Real Estate Marketing Insider recommends that realtors implement a cohesive color story for high-impact branding in real estate. Studies have shown that color influences 60 to 80 percent of a customers purchasing decision, according to an infographic provided by RISMedia. The results of these studies prompted REMI to ask its realtor readers to incorporate color in their real estate marketing strategies.

According to a Xerox research, color improves brand recognition by as much as 80 percent and comprehension by up to 73 percent. Every color of the rainbow sends a different message, RISMedia explains, and customers are keenly aware when a companys color story and business principles dont mesh well. It is therefore important to choose colors for logos and branding that impart the essential message of what the realtors business is all about. A realtor who wishes to clearly communicate years of experience and integrity might choose blue, a signifier of trustworthiness and responsibility. Another realtor who specializes in helping new, inexperienced buyers feel comfortable with the home-purchasing process might choose yellow, which communicates positivity and warmth. Realtors must think about their businesss core values, and then choose colors that will reinforce those in the mind of the customer.

Many businesses find that a limited color palette works best; 95percent of companies use just one or two colors in their logo. REMI believes that when choosing ones palette, it might be beneficial to pick two colors that communicate differing, positive aspects of a business. For instance, the trustworthy and dependable realtor with a mostly-blue color brand might also employ red (in small amounts) in their marketing materials, to show energy and enthusiasm.

The Insider also recommends that realtors take time to research competing realtors brand colors before settling on a color palette. It would be advantageous to choose color combinations that are unique, so that potential customers can tell competing brands apart. Once the palette is chosen, realtors should integrate the chosen color brand across the board in their logo, website, and all print materials.

Color branding can help realtors create a memorable business impression. The Real Estate Marketing Insider recommends that realtors use a consistent, carefully-chosen color palette that accurately reflects their core business values to their real estate prospects.

Power Direct Energy Fulfills One Millionth Energy Conservation Kit

Power Direct Energy, a leading full-service implementation and marketing solutions provider in the energy efficiency industry, marked an impressive milestone recently by packing and distributing its one millionth energy conservation kit on behalf of utility clients nationwide. The impact of the one million kits collectively equate to a savings of more than 507 million kWh of energy, which is enough energy to power over 44,000 homes for one year, or the entire city of Tucson, AZ, for one month.

We pride ourselves on our ability to help utilities achieve aggressive energy-saving goals while helping their customers realize considerable cost savings, said Stuart Hayden, COO. From developing targeted customer demographics and researching innovative, quality products, to using state-of-the-art technologies for distributing and tracking kits in real time, we have mastered the energy conservation kit process and look forward to helping clients across the U.S. address the needs of cost effective energy efficiencies that help preserve and protect our environment.

Power Direct Energy sources, packs and distributes a variety of energy kit configurations customized to the clients individualized needs. The kits most commonly requested by clients include compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), low flow showerheads, faucet aerators and smart strip advanced power strips (APS). The company is further distinguished by its expertise and experience engaging multi-family residents and owners, small businesses and other hard-to-reach consumers through targeted marketing and outreach.

Utility marketing can constitute the largest expense for programs and even then it often relies on the customer to initiate the call, says Susie Komornik, Vice President of Business Development. Our outreach and marketing can be focused to reach just those customers who are missing out on your offers. Whether as a stand-alone program, a supplement to reach the underserved or hard-to-reach customer or to garner much needed kWh to reach a goal, these programs work.

Interested parties should contact Ms. Komornik at skomornik@powerdirect.net.

Electrochemical Double Layer Capacitors: Supercapacitors Market 2013-2023 New Study Published By MarketResearchReports.biz

This is the only report on supercapacitors and supercabatteries with up to date ten year forecasts and analysis of market, emerging applications, technology, patent and profit trends and the manufacturers and researchers involved.

55% of the manufacturers and intending manufacturers of supercapacitors/supercabatteries (EDLC, AEDLC) are in East Asia, 28% are in North America but Europe is fast asleep at only 7%. Yet, being used for an increasing number of purposes in electric vehicles, mobile phones, energy harvesting, renewable energy and other products of the future, this market is roaring up to over $11 billion in ten years with considerable upside potential.

To Read The Complete Report with TOC Visit: http://www.marketresearchreports.biz/analysis/107526

Supercapacitors are a curiously neglected aspect of electronics and electrical engineering with a multimillion dollar market rapidly emerging. For example, for land, water and airborne electric vehicles, there are about 200 serious traction motor manufacturers and 110 serious traction battery suppliers compared to just a few supercapacitor manufacturers. In all, there are no more than 66 significant super capacitor manufacturers with most concentrating on the easier small ones for consumer electronics such as power backup. However, in a repetition of the situation with rechargeable batteries, the largest part of the market has just become the heavy end, notably for electric and conventional vehicles.

Supercapacitors mainly have properties intermediate between those of batteries and traditional capacitors but they are being improved more rapidly than either. That includes improvement in cost and results in them not just being used to enhance batteries but even replacing batteries and capacitors in an increasing number of applications from renewable energy down to microscopic electronics. For example, your mobile phone may have better sound and flash that works at ten times the distance because a supercapacitor has taken over these functions from conventional capacitors.

Related Report: http://www.marketresearchreports.biz/analysis/112943

Supercapacitors are replacing batteries where such properties as excellent low temperature performance, calendar and cycle life, fast charge-discharge and reliability are more dominant issues than size and weight. Examples of this include power backup opening bus doors in an emergency, working hybrid car brakes when power goes down and keeping electronic circuits running. Conventional trucks are having one to three of their lead acid batteries replaced with drop-in super capacitor alternatives that guarantee starting in very cold weather, when lead acid batteries are very poor performers.

The difference is dramatic- about 5% energy loss occurs at minus 25 degrees centigrade, compared to a battery's energy loss of more than 50%. Some pure electric buses even run on super capacitors alone recharging through the road every five kilometers or so. Use of supercapacitors to protect batteries against fast charge and discharge and from deep discharge means smaller batteries are needed and they last longer, depressing battery demand and increasing super capacitor demand.

Latest Report: http://www.marketresearchreports.biz/analysis/164611

The bottom line is that almost everywhere you see next generation electronic and power technology you see supercapacitors and supercabatteries being fitted or planned because of superior performance, cost-over-life and fit-and-forget.

New York City Housing Authority Named Public Partner of the Year by Con Edison

Con Edison named the New York City Housing Authority the Public Partner of the Year for completing a massive energy-efficiency project in 5,300 public housing units in Manhattan, the Bronx and Brooklyn. The announcement was made during Con Edisons Multi-Family Energy Efficiency Program Recognition Awards Breakfast, during which the utility honored building owners, property managers and contractors who led the way in 2012 in making energy- and money-saving efficiency upgrades in multifamily buildings.

The Multi-Family Energy Efficiency Program provides owners of residential buildings with five to 75 units free energy-efficiency surveys and incentives for heating, cooling and lighting upgrades to common areas. Under the available incentives, NYCHA qualified for free compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), shower heads, faucet aerators, and smart strips (surge protectors) for electrical appliances.

The New York City Housing Authority is grateful to Con Edison for joining us in our efforts to make our buildings greener and more energy efficient, said NYCHA Chairman John B. Rhea. NYCHA is fully committed to providing safe, affordable housing for its 400,000 residents in a cost-efficient and environmentally conscious manner. Through key partnerships such as these, we are able to invest in energy efficiency upgrades that will benefit our residents, NYCHA, the city and the environment for years to come.

Our multifamily energy-efficiency program is at its most successful when owners and managers work with our installation contractors to upgrade to modern lighting, HVAC and other equipment, said Gregory Elcock, manager of Con Edisons multifamily program. These honorees made buildings more comfortable for tenants and helped ensure that New York City remains a clean, safe place to live and work.

A total of 412 NYCHA buildings consisting of 9,236 units in 91 developments qualified to receive one or more of the incentives. Developments include First Houses, Randolph and Samuel Houses in Manhattan; Crown Heights, Bushwick and Ocean Hill-Brownsville Houses in Brooklyn; Betances IV, Franklin Avenue I and II and Highbridge Rehabs in the Bronx; and Rehab Program (College Point) in Queens. To date approximately 5,300 dwelling units have received these incentives. Installation is currently underway in the remaining buildings. NYCHA projects an energy savings of at least $1 million per year.
