Zamansky & Associates LLC Announces Its Investigation of ATP Oil and Gas 11.875% Senior Second Lien Exchange Notes

Zamansky & Associates LLC announces that it is investigating ATP Oil and Gas 11.875% Senior Second Lien Exchange Notes (ATP Notes), on behalf of investors. The investigation concerns alleged investment advice or sales of these ATP Notes by brokerage firms to customers.

On May 24, 2013, a class action lawsuit was filed on behalf of purchasers or investor who otherwise acquired ATP Notes traceable to the December 16, 2010 exchange by the company of $1.6 billion of notes. The case was filed in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, docket no. 13-cv-3935. The Complaint alleges that the ATP Notes were issued while the company concealed two moratoriums on deep water drilling issued by the U.S. Department of Interior, which devastated the companys business and revenues.

On August 17, 2012, the Company filed for bankruptcy in the Southern District of Texas, case number 12-36187.

The investigation concerns the alleged investment advisor and sales to investors in the ATP Notes by brokerage firms to their customers. According to stock fraud attorney Jake Zamansky, the ATP Notes were high risk and speculative investments that were not suitable or appropriate for any conservative investors seeking fixed income. He believes that any investor who held the ATP Notes at a brokerage firm and who suffered a substantial loss should contact a professional to determine whether the investment was appropriate.
