Marlene Pashos, owner of Maid to Shine, began private housecleaning in Chesterfield, Mo., working for five years until she began Maid to Shine in 1993.
Ive been providing special cleaning for moms with newborns for 10 years a type of cleaning thats more known as green cleaning now, said Pashos. This type of cleaning is especially essential for newborns as it doesnt involve toxic chemicals. Our employees are screened, bonded, fully insured, and supervised, said Pashos. They are also professionally trained, covered by workers compensations, and highly motivated to see their clients smile and pleased with the job they do. We conduct national background checks and send out photo ids to all of our new clients. Also, upon your request, an up-to-date certificate and insurance can be sent or faxed directly from our insurance company.
Maid to Shine uses 100% plant-based and eco-friendly cleaning solutions that are bio-degradable and do not contain any ethoxylates, petrochemicals, or volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Eco-friendly products outperform conventional cleaners and do not contain dyes, fragrances, or solvents, said Pashos. As we always say, just because your home smells clean, it doesnt mean that its a healthy clean. Cleaning and disinfecting chemicals, which are all solvent-based, can omit VOCs at room temperature. The problem with this is when you breathe low levels of VOCs for long periods of time, it can increase the risk of developing health problems.
