Survivor Contestant Embarrassing Moment Could Have Been Avoided

Dr. Steven H. Tsuchida DDS. from Orangevale Dentistry says a very embarrassing moment could have been avoided for one of the contestants on ABCs Survivor Show last week.

During the episode which aired Wednesday April 17th, 2013 the contestant named Dawn had an unthinkable event happen. The retainer, holding her false teeth fell out, while taping. Out of nowhere, Dawn is heard screaming, crying and yelling. While swimming alone she opened her mouth and her teeth slipped out and into the water, causing her to break down in hysterics and declare that if she couldnt find them she would take herself off of the show. She was so embarrassed that she was unwilling to continue competing. She explained that due to an accident years ago, she lost her lower front teeth and has been wearing the retainer.

Dr. Steven Tsuchida of Orangevale, CA notes that while this was a sad, unfortunate situation for Dawn, it was easily avoidable. There are many options available to replace missing teeth. Midland Dentist Celebrates Three Decades In Dentistry

The arrival of 2013 marks a special milestone for Midland dentist David H. Orr, D.D.S., as he celebrates his 30th year as a practicing dentist.

"When I embarked upon my dentistry practice, I had no idea the impact and experiences of a lifetime the dental field would afford me," Dr. Orr, dentist in Midland, TX, says. "I have watched children grow and have their own children who come to my practice. I am grateful to the Midland community for the opportunity to play a role in their health for three decades."

Dr. Orr is an honors graduate from the University of Texas at Austin where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering. He then went on to attend dental school at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston, Dental Branch. In 1979, he earned his D.D.S. degree. Three years later, Dr. Orr and his wife Janet moved to Midland. Dr. Orr has three adult children, Randy, Michael and Stephanie. The result has been a 30-year history as a Midland cosmetic dentist, caring for the community's teeth and keeping smiles healthy and bright.

Dr. Orr's practice is also home to a long-term dental staff, including practice business manager Ann who has managed the business since 1982. Dental hygienist Diann has cared for Dr. Orr's patients since her dental hygienist graduation in 1990. Chairside dental assistant Laura has been with the practice since 2008.
