According to The Telegraph report by Andrew Hough: WPcs cut thumb will cost force 100,000, a five year compensation battle between Kerry Ann Taylor and Hampshire Police came to an end at the Court of Appeal when Lord Justice Elias and Lord Justice Pattern dismissed the constabularys challenge against her. The Telegraph report goes on to say that the officer launched legal action against Andy Marsh her Chief Constable, claiming the constabulary had breached its duty as her employer. Last year she won a 5024.22 payout when it was found that her superiors had allowed her to be exposed to intoxicating fumes and failed to provide her with thick gardening gloves. This was a breach of their duty under the Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992.
