Warren Melamed Responds to New 1-800-Dentist Report on Patient Needs

However, he suspects that the dentist-patient relationship is improving, as consumers are showing an interest in modern solutions and are expressing their demands. As such, Melamed encourages all dental health professionals to take note of a recent report released by 1-800-Dentist entitled "What Dental Patients Want."

A recent article from Dentistry Today highlighted the new authoritative report and states, "The report, based on a nationwide consumer survey conducted by an independent research firm, analyzes real patients' attitudes towards dentists and dentistry - and provides dentists with practical advice on how to improve practice reputation and performance." Since the report is available to practitioners for no charge, Warren Melamed notes that the research presented in the whitepaper is essential to observe--even for dentists who are already forward-moving.

While some may believe that patients only refer to dentists when necessary--such as in emergency situations--Melamed states that many are beginning to embrace the dental health in terms of continual and regular care. For instance, another article from Wall Street Journal suggests, "The fear of going to the dentist may be done with dentist's use of laser drills to remove tooth decay."
