Electromek Diagnostic Systems Installs Dicom Systems' DICOM Router to Help Manage Radiology Workflow

Dicom Systems, healthcare IT company and teleradiology interoperability expert, today announced the signing of its newest client through their reseller partner Electromek Diagnostic Systems.

Electromek will install Dicom Systems DICOM and HL7 router and Interface Engine to help manage a radiology practices Wide Area Radiology workflow. Electromeks client is a leader in the region with more than 60 board-certified radiologists covering all radiology subspecialties. The DCMSYS product will be used as a workflow engine to manage exams from over 25 hospitals and clinics throughout Illinois, Missouri and Iowa, allowing the radiologists to read from one centralized worklist.

Dan Thoma, Electromeks Vice President of Digital Imaging states: The DCMSYS architecture helps us create a distributed radiology network with efficient routing and prefetching tools that gives the radiologists the images they need for final reads. One challenge our radiologist groups face is the possibility of different patients having the same Patient ID. The DCMSYS router allows us to solve this. Also, the DCMSYS product routes images faster and more efficiently than other products we evaluated.

Dean Whitt, Dicom Systems VP of Sales and Business Development stated, "Electromek is an excellent example of the trusted solution provider that solved the customer's current workflow challenges with our DICOM / HL7 workflow appliance. The combination of Dicom Systems technology and Electromeks service and professionalism make the conversion of a large enterprise-wide network much less stressful for all."
