Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa. The travel groups native Tibetan guide will meet them at the airport or train station and accompany them on the shuttle bus to Lhasa. Once travelers check into their hotel they are advised to take it easy while acclimatizing to the altitude. To mitigate the altitudes affects, it is best to keep walking light and drink more water than normal.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Lhasa. On the first full day of sightseeing the group will visit Potala Palace, former home of the Dalai Lama and center of Tibetan politics. This is, without a doubt, one of the top must-see Tibet attractions. Cultural relics, some more than 1000 years old, await visitors inside. This is a great place for learning about Tibetan history! Next, travelers will visit Jokhang Temple, home to the only known image the Buddha that is known to remain in existence. Tibetan Buddhists revere this site as one of the most holy, flocking here from all over Tibet to pay homage to the Buddha.
Day 3: Biking Tour. Travelers being their biking tour in the morning, hustling and bustling streets filled with pilgrims spinning prayer wheels and locals going about their daily business can be seen as the tour heads for the Tibet Museum and Norbulinka, summer palace of the Dalai Lama. After eating lunch, travelers will bike to Sera Monastery, to see the famous debating monks, and then ride to Barkhor Bazaar for exploring and shopping!
Day 4: Depart Tibet. The travel group will have a bit of free time for exploring and last minute pictures. The groups native Tibetan guide will see them off at the airport shuttle stop or train station. Travelers seeking more adventure are welcome to extend their tour to Nepal or China.
