Startappz Announces Results of the Diabetes Test App [Infographic]

On the occasion of the World Health Day, Startappz; a subsidiary of N2V Holding, reveals recent results about the estimation of developing diabetes type || in MENA region, generated from the users of its Mobile Application Diabetes Test. The mobile solution was launched on the 14th of November 2012 coinciding with the world diabetes day; this solution provides users with self-assessment tool that is especially tailored for Diabetes Type II. The mobile application embodies the agreement between Startappz and Mobily Telecom (Etihad Etisalat) in KSA, in partnership with Saudi Ministry of Health and it covered the MENA region.
Reaching more than 45,000 users who tested the diabetes risk test and after more than four months since the launch of Diabetes Test app, Startappz was able to come up with statistics about Diabetes Type II, capitalizing on the final results of the mobile application users. Studies show that Diabetes is the fifth major cause of death, and since more than 34 million people in MENA region are diabetic, 90% of them have diabetes type II, which is a chronic disease and results from the bodys ineffective use of insulin. Moreover, the study shows that more than 16,000 users were diagnosed with high-risk levels of developing diabetes type II, and 68% of them were not aware of their illness.

On this occasion, Mr. Mohamad Khawaja, CEO of Startappz commented: Being an active player in the field of E-health and M-Health in the region, Startappz is releasing a bundle of 5 healthcare mobile applications that tackle health-related issues for women, kids, men, smokers.
